Topic: Reconceiving Values Distorted by Emotionalism
Emotions are alerts to values at stake in the present moment. They are not problems to be avoided, nor goals to be pursued, nor guides to be followed. These wrong views of emotions are forms of emotionalism. In this class, we will discuss how to catch such emotionalism in your thinking, and reconceptualize the underlying values. Analogous to the class on reconceiving social values, this class teaches how to catch and correct mistakes based on a commonly-held wrong premise.
