Major goals often require that you devote regular concentrated time to them. Brooke Castillo recommends that on every work day, you create one 2-hour time block for "Focus Time" to work on such projects. In Tap Your Own Brilliance I teach basic concentration tasks. In this class, I'll show how to apply the ideas from Just-in-Time Planning to ensure you get the most out of focus time. We'll discuss:
- The benefits of the 2-hour limit
- How to keep the planning portion to 10 minutes or less
- The need to manufacture a "finishing point" for your time block
- What to do to ensure that when you come back, you can jump right back in
Come with a project in mind that will require multiple sessions of focus time, and we'll discuss how to apply these ideas to your real cases in class.
