The Thinking Lab - Boundaries for Focus - for Members
January 11, 2022 –
Topic: Boundaries for Focus
"Focus time" is a 1-3 hour block of time in which you do concentrated work. As part of your scheduling infrastructure, you may have regular periods of focus time to work on major projects.
To get the most out of these blocks of time, it helps to put boundaries on the work, as I described in my recent blog post on "Should You Fit Your Work into a Defined Time Block" (www.thinkingdirections.com/faq-should-you-fit-your-work-into-a-defined-time-block/).
In this class, we will discuss:
- Why you might need to set up boundaries to get work done within a time block
- What kinds of contingency plans you need to make
- The key to making sure this focus time is used effectively
You may want to review the blog post on the 3-Point Plan (www.thinkingdirections.com/be-more-productive-with-a-3-point-plan/) in addition to the blog post on defined time blocks (www.thinkingdirections.com/faq-should-you-fit-your-work-into-a-defined-time-block/).
